We use steel trusses that are a minimum of 1/8″ thick for superior durability, and reinforce every connection with hurricane clips and joist hangers to stand strong against high winds and heavy loads. At Summertown Metals, we don’t cut corners—literally. Our pole barns are built to last, starting from the ground up. We use .60 CCA ground-contact treated bottom bands to protect against rot and moisture where it matters most. Combined with solid corner bracing for added strength and stability, every structure is designed for long-term durability you can count on.
Every Summertown Metals pole barn is engineered for strength you can trust. We use galvanized lag bolts for superior uplift protection, helping your structure stay firmly anchored in high winds. Each post sits on an 18” composite footer pad, distributing weight evenly and resisting settling over time.
Our monolithic pad option offers an extra layer of strength and stability for your pole barn. By pouring a single, solid concrete base beneath each post, these pads help prevent shifting, settling, and moisture damage over time. It’s a smart upgrade for long-term durability—especially in areas with softer soil or frequent weather swings. *Note: not every pole barn kit includes concrete pads

Material-only packages do not include concrete and can be delivered anywhere in TN, or up to 200 miles from any Summertown Metals location. For deliveries beyond 300 miles, third-party shipping is available, with all arrangements being the buyer’s responsibility.
Installation by an independent contractor is available only within Tennessee or within a 200-mile radius of our Summertown Metals branch locations in Hopkinsville, KY, and Hayden, AL. Buyers are responsible for obtaining necessary codes and permits, which may require additional materials or costs depending on location.

A standard pole barn can go up in a few days with the right crew. For DIYers, it may take a couple of weeks depending on size, weather, and your availability. We help make the process as smooth as possible.
