Frequently asked Questions

Summer Shield is designed to work with fiberglass or spray foam insulation, not to replace them completely. It enhances your building’s efficiency by blocking radiant heat and reducing condensation.

Summer Shield does everything Double Bubble does, but is an overall more effective and superior product.

No. Once you staple Summer Shield at one corner and pull it tight, it will hold securely, even on windy days.

In many cases, yes. Please consult your building specialist or spray foam installer for compatibility and installation best practices.

CondenStop® Condensation Control

No drips. No worries.

CondenStop® is a smart solution for metal roofs where moisture likes to gather. Applied directly to the panel, its fleece lining captures condensation before it falls—preventing drips and keeping your interior dry.

Key Benefits

water droplets bouncing off surface icon

Condensation Prevention

Prevents interior dripping on metal panels.

Increases Insulation Life

Prolongs insulation life and reduces moisture risks.

Long-Term Durability

Factory-bonded for strength, fire safety, and long-term durability.

Mold and Corrosion Resistant

Mold-resistant fleece that helps prevent rust and panel damage.

What's the Difference Between a Vapor Barrier and Condensation Control?

Vapor Barrier

Vapor Barriers keep insulation dry and prevent mold inside walls or ceilings by blocking humidity transfer from moving through walls or ceilings into insulation or building interiors.

It does not keep metal from sweating.

Condensation Control

Condensation Control stops drips from the roof, prevents water from landing on insulation (or animals, tools, and equipment) all while protecting the longevity of your insulation so it can keep doing its job.

It catches and re-releases water that forms when warm, moist air hits cold metal.

Condensation Disclaimer

Condensation is a natural occurrence when warm, moist air meets cooler surfaces, like metal panels, and is especially common without proper airflow, insulation, or vapor barriers. While insulation and other building practices can help reduce condensation, it cannot always be fully eliminated.

Which Insulation Solution is Right for Your Metal Building?

Choosing the right insulation depends on your building’s size, climate, and goals for energy savings and moisture control.

Feature CondenStop Sol‑R‑Eclipse Summer Shield Radiant Barrier Vinyl‑Backed Fiberglass
Relative Cost $$ (Moderate) $$ (Moderate) $ (Low) $$$ (Highest)
Main Benefit Absorbs condensation to prevent drips Reflects radiant heat + adds modest R-value Blocks radiant heat + reduces moisture High thermal + sound control
R-Value None (not an insulation) Moderate (core ~R‑3 to R‑4; tested up to R‑10.7 with air gap) Up to 12* (with air space or added insulation) High (R‑7 to R‑19 depending on thickness)
Moisture Control Excellent – fleece traps and re-evaporates condensation Good – perforated options manage vapor Excellent – vapor barrier with radiant control Good – vinyl facing blocks moisture
Sound Reduction Moderate – dampens roof noise Minimal Minimal Excellent
UV Protection No (installs on underside of roof panel) Yes – via reflective foil surface Yes No
Durability Bonded fleece – durable if protected Heat-sealed, wrinkle-free; moderate durability Tear-resistant, reinforced Very durable but needs support wires
Clean Interior Finish No – not intended as finish Yes, with white or foil finish Yes, with white finish Yes (vinyl facing)
Combines With Other Insulation? Yes – used under roof panel, above insulation Can combine with fiberglass or spray foam Best results with fiberglass. Spray foam-friendly Usually used alone; can add radiant barrier
Best For Controlling condensation in humid climates, buildings with foil-faced insulation Budget-friendly radiant + minor R-value with clean finish Reducing radiant heat & moisture in hot climates Thermal + sound control with finished interior look
Feature Summer Shield Radiant Barrier Double Bubble Insulation Vinyl-Backed Fiberglass
Relative Cost $$ (Moderate) $ (Lowest) $$$ (Highest)
Main Benefit Blocks radiant heat Moisture + modest insulation High thermal + sound control
R-Value Low (reflective, not insulative) Moderate (adds some R-value) High (significant R-value)
Moisture Control Excellent (reduces condensation) Good Good
Sound Reduction Minimal Minimal Excellent
Ease of Installation Easy Very easy Moderate
Clean Interior Finish No No Yes
Combining with Other Insulation Recommended with fiberglass or spray foam for best results Can combine with fiberglass if needed Often used alone; can combine with Summer Shield for extreme heat control
